Accounts payable & spend · AP-01
Bill Processor
Reads vendor bills from email, extracts the data, resolves the vendor, classifies the lines, and drafts the AP invoice for approval.
01 / What it does
The job,
step by step.
Extracts PDF and image invoices with Haiku (~$0.003 per bill) — vendor, amount, dates, tax, and line items.
Resolves the vendor in three tiers: memory → database search → inline creation, and enriches missing tax ID, bank, and address from the bill.
Classifies each line to a GL account, resolves the tax code by rate, and detects capitalizable assets.
Prevents duplicate invoices with a three-layer check, links the source PDF as evidence, and routes low-confidence extractions to an accountant.
TRIGGER EVENTS
The agent does not run on its own. It wakes only when one of these events lands in the governed event queue.
CONTROL
Below-threshold extractions are sent to a human review panel instead of being posted. Missing vendors are delegated to the Master Data Agent; missing posting profiles to the Configuration Agent.

Every Artifi agent operates the same way: it listens for an event, works through governed tools, and writes only what a person approves — all inside Claude.
